Bullard Smith Jernstedt Wilson is a boutique labor and employment law firm representing employers in both the private and public sectors. Over the past 30 years, we have grown to 28 top-quality attorneys. We are the largest specialty management labor and employment law firm in the Northwest, and are considered by many to be the leading such law firm in this area. We have provided professional services to more than 4,000 clients and are proud of the client loyalty we have earned.

In addition to working to achieve our clients' legal objectives, we also try to maintain positive relationships with those with whom we come into contact. This includes the clients we serve, the work forces they employ, the unions that represent those workers and the neutrals and regulatory agencies with which we regularly interface. We believe these positive relationships not only benefit our clientele and play a significant role in the final outcome, but also make the labor relations community better as a whole.

FIRM NEWS

June 17th marks the return of our popular Summer Workshop series to the Multnomah Athletic Club.  These popular events provide a lively and informative opportunity to get up to the minute information on current labor and employment law topics.  These hour and a half long workshops will fit perfectly into your busy schedule.  Free breakfast and parking are provided to make it even easier for you to attend.  The first workshop delivers twice as much, with two topics:  Recent Developments in Labor and Employment Law and Best Practices When Firing an Employee to Avoid Being Sued presented by Dave Riewald and Mitch Cogen.

Don't miss the second program, Auditing Your Employment Practices in Times of Economic Uncertainty, presented by Lisa Brown, Wednesday, July 15.  Lisa will cover best practices during reductions in force, voluntary and involuntary termination considerations, COBRA and Older Worker Benefit Protection Act Requirements.
You can register or view the invitation at http://www.bullardlaw.com/Resources/NewCalendar-74.html.  We look forward to seeing long-time and new friends throughout the summer as we kick off another exciting series of Summer workshops.
